Ranger for Networks

Simplifying network management, so that you can do more in less time. By simplifying and enhancing school, academy, college and university network management, Ranger for Networks enables technical staff of all abilities to use their time more effectively.

  • Ranger Account Manager - administer users in a fraction of the time, by automatically creating user accounts, home directories and profiles.
  • LAN Ranger - see a real-time interactive overview of who is doing what on the network and take action accordingly.
  • Ranger React - trigger responses to specific events and preschedule tasks to occur on PCs and servers automatically.
  • Ranger RollOut - allows applications to be remotely deployed to workstations across the network, without users' intervention.
  • Management Information and Web Tracking - analyse and report on network activity and monitor which Web sites students are visiting.

Ranger Primary

Managing your primary school network has never been easier. Ranger Primary uses the same underlying technology as Ranger for Networks, but is tailored for use in a primary or smaller school environment.
Simplify network management - automatically create user accounts, deploy software across the network and trigger tasks to occur automatically - eg turn off PCs at the end of the day.
Tailor the look and feel of your Windows environment - suggested templates allow you to provide young children with a simplified look and feel, plus limited access to applications.
Monitor network and Web activity - see a real-time overview of who is doing what on the network and monitor which Web sites users are visiting, helping to protect pupils and prevent misuse.

Ranger Remote Control

Empowering teachers to control ICT in their classroom

Enhances whole-class teaching, by enabling staff of all technical abilities to better manage PC activity in their classroom.
Monitor - keep a watchful eye (from your own PC) on what students are working on.
Control - specify the applications available during a lesson and restrict/block Web access. Lock screens and keyboards to get students' attention or take control of individual PCs to demonstrate work.
Teach - interact with students, without leaving your desk. Broadcast selected screens to the class or to selected individuals, replay screen activity, provide discrete on-line support, plus send alerts to get attention.
Assess - record students' screen activity to review later, set and administer on-screen tests and gather feedback through instant surveys.
Plan and organize - create fully automated lesson plans which ‘play' in real time, prompting you with the current activity, next action etc.
Remote assistance - where help is required, network managers can provide assistance, using the chat and control functions - in just the same way as a teacher would take control of a student's machine.

Ranger Outpost provides a secure and easy-to-use file-transfer solution which can be rolled out to staff and students alike.
User activity-monitoring - monitor which files are being modified, by whom and when, and generate reports detailing usage.
Secure - as with all Ranger software, Outpost ensures that the security of your network is not compromised.
Quick and simple to install - requires no additional hardware, just a connection to the Internet; can be installed and configured on your server in under 10 minutes.

Ranger Print Manager

Helping you to manage print costs more effectively
Print Manager helps you to forecast, control and account for printing across your network, quickly and easily. This product will ultimately pay for itself. By applying costs to different printers, allocating print quotas and configuring printing on a user-pays basis, staff and students become accountable for their use of resources and paper waste is reduced.
Individual and departmental print accounts - individuals or departments are assigned a print account, authorising them to print to a defined budget, with a pop-up message if they run out of credit.
Colour or black and white - Ranger Print Manager will detect print jobs which contain colour data and charge accordingly.
Balance enquiry and print history - users can instantly view their personal or department balance and print history which details document names, number of pages printed and the date/time of print jobs.
