Synology NAS Server

Neat little box that can be connected to your office network, and takes two standard hard drives. All network users can access it via a variety of standard methods including network mapped drive letter. Additionally can be used as a Time Machine^tm backup location for Macs.

It can be set to automatically power on and off and whatever time of day, eco friendly and cheaper to run.

Hard disks can be set to spin down after a short time when not being used to reduce power consumption.

It can remotely backup to Amazon S3 file service (http://aws.amazon.com/s3) at very low cost, currently about 10p per GB per month on a customisable schedule, fully automated.

Can be accessed via the web, so files always available even when not in the office. Also via FTP.

You can configure as many users as you like on the box and allow them read only or write access to whichever folders you require.

It offers USB printer file server functionality and local backup to USB hard drive if required.
